WELCOME TO THE MILLENIUM WOOD

For many Padbury Villagers the Millennium Wood was just fields a short time ago. Planting began in 2000 and the wood you see hear has sprung up since that date.
A mix of habitats keeps the woods healthy. Some areas are cut back each year to let in light and encourage new growth. Ash trees with die-back are removed if unsafe but left to break down naturally in other areas.

These woods are managed for both wildlife and people. The Greener Padbury Group, working with Padbury Parish Council and others, is helping turn this once-planted woodland into a rich, diverse ecosystem.
