Go Wild ‘For a Walk’ in the Woods – and discover our new nature trail!

ree

The eagle-eyed among you will have spotted some very charming owls dotted around the Millennium Woods. But they are not just good-looking owls – they are full of wisdom too! They are part of our new nature trail. Each owl has an individual QR code; scan this and it will tell you about a different aspect of our woodland biodiversity project – for example, why moths are important, how we encourage birds, why we are cutting scallops into the rides, who left that dropping there, etc.

We’re incredibly grateful to Padbury resident Richard Johnson for his time and talents and making this come to life. Thank you, Richard.

Please do take yourself to the woods and explore the trail for yourself (with your mobile in hand).

If you have children who could do with some fresh air, you might like to schedule your walk for the morning of Sunday 7th December between 10.30am and 12pm as Julie will be running a drop-in Go Wild session to celebrate the new trail (at station 7 on the map). You can help Julie decorate the forest school area and learn more about woodland wildlife – and enjoy some festive gingerbread too!
