Coffee pods - and other (previously!) hard to recycle items...

We've all been there: you want to do the right thing so you put aside all those items that could be recycled but can't go in the blue-lidded bin. Yet after the tenth time you've done a google search for a local depot or been to the supermarket where you could have put them in the special bin if only you hadn't left them at home, you give up - you need the space back, so into the refuse bin it goes.

I've been there most recently with coffee pods - so imagine my joy when I discovered I could take them to the household recycling centre in Buckingham. I was in and out in minutes. Job done!

There is so much you can take there to be recycled and all the supermarkets have 'soft plastics' bins so it's getting easier to do the right thing. But is it still too difficult? We'd love to hear your thoughts. What would make you recycle more? What do you find particularly difficult to dispose of responsibly and sustainably? Let us know: agreenerpadbury@gmail.com

Another good intention that has been made easier to enact is recycling all that redundant and malfunctioning stationery that is cluttering up your kitchen drawer. The Great Padbury Pen Recycle is on for a few more weeks so now is your time!
